Suggestion 

●Means to give a suggestion that is to introduce or propose an idea or a olan for someone's consideration 

(Berarti memberikan saran yaitu memperkenalkan atau mengusulkan ide atau rencana untuk dipertimbangkan seseorang) 

●Are abstract and can be in from of solutions, advice, plan and idea. It can be accepted or refused 

(Abstrak dan dapat berasal dari solusi, saran, rencana dan ide. Itu bisa diterima atau ditolak) 

Social function 

●To facilitate interpersonal communication between different people

(Untuk memfasilitasi komunikasi antarpribadi dan orang yang berbeda) 

Example:
-Let's go to the library 
-i think you should go and meet her 
-how about going to cinema
-i suggest that we call it a day 
-why don't you do your task before you going out? 

DIALOGUE:

A: Excuse me sir
B: yes?
A: Do you mind not to smoke here?
B: what's your problem? There's no sign that

 says it's forbidden to smoke in this area. It means i can smoke here

A: that's true but this is a public area. Your cigarette is harmful for all people here. 

B: People aren't complaining except you 

A: i don't want to make a scene here. So i suggest you to smoke somewhere else. 

B: all right i'll leave and smoke somewhere else 

A: thank you, i appreciate that. 

     

 Offers 

●Means to give something physical or abstract to someone. Which has been taken as a gift or a trade. 

(Memberikan sesuatu yang fisik atau abstrak kepada seseorang yang telah diambil sebagai hadian atau perdagangan)

●Can be given in terms of foods, money, solutions, friendship, or a bargain. 

(Dapat diberikan dalam bentuk makanan, uang, solusi, pertemanan, tawar menawar) 

Example 

-may i give you a hand?

-shall i bring you some tea?

-how about i help you with this? 

-i will do the dishes, if you like. 

DIALOGUE 

A: my extended family is going to give a surprise birthday party for my cousins next week 

B: wow! That sounds great. How old is he? 

A: he'll be 21 on august 13

B: really? I didn't know that he was that old, i thought he was still around 17. He looks much younger 

A: thanks 

B:what if i help you with the preparation? 

A: oh it's very nice of you. But i'm going to do it with my sister. Thanks for the offer.
